About Me
- Debora Teo
- Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
- I have been creating art throughout my life but it was not until the beginning of 2010, having ample time in my hands that i started creating art on a full-time basis. I am a self taught artist, having no formal education in art, painting solely driven by interest, love for art and passion. Occasionally, dream and emotion inspired. As an emotional painter, expressing myself in my artwork is as important as it is for me to breath. Expressing myself through art enables me to reach deep down into my true essential self and share that state of interconnectedness and "entanglement". When an idea becomes compulsion, I express it. I believe that Art is an essential requirement of living. I am from Sarawak, a Malaysian born and raised in Brunei Darussalam and lived in Miri, Sarawak for most of my adult life. I am currently residing in Kuala Lumpur. I have two beautiful children.

Tranquility
Tranquility
Reclined, the body...
while the mind moves briskly in solemn meditative visions
Tranquility, the moving factor...
as the world around, becomes obsolete for awhile
The sights are inward, and the sounds too...
seeing repose- hearing music of love
The calmness that is fenced in, fuels a soul in temporary salvation...
free from all ills and external forces;
resting peacefully... aloof of all conflicts
A tranquil gateway to a place of absolute peace...
where all inhabitants are related and share a common purpose;
love, joy, smiles, hugs, kisses and eternity forever
Prayerful and free to the end of time...

Serenity at Dusk
Serenity at Dusk
Serenity- composure, calm, peacefulness, peace. Calmness of mind; undisturbed state; coolness; composure.
This painting portrays Serenity at dusk with the presence of fireflies.
~The serenity of mind, gentleness, silence, self-restraint, and the purity of mind are called the austerity of thought ~

SOLITUDE
Solitude, though it may be silent as light, is like light, the mightiest of agencies; for solitude is essential to man. All men come into this world alone and leave it alone.
Being solitary is being alone well: being alone luxuriously immersed in doings of your own choice, aware of the fullness of your own presence rather than of the absence of others. Because solitude is an achievement Quote by Alice Koller

attitude - gratitude
"Half of the pleasure of painting and feeling the joy of the creative act is sharing it with others and the feeling of connection. It could just be the colour. But it is something that someone other than you has seen and felt. It is momentous. It is magic". ~ (Sara Genn)
What is the value of art? Honestly, I really don’t think that art has an enduring value. A piece of art is divine to one man and ridiculous to the next. All art has local and temporal value—though some are fortunate to outlive others. But pieces that evoke wonder and appreciation and awe are definitely of utmost emotional value to anyone with an open mind or heart. For me, the pleasure of painting is sharing it with others, after all the essence of all beautiful art is gratitude. thank you all for your wonderful support.
"For each new morning with its light, For rest and shelter of the night, For health and food, for love and friends, For everything Thy goodness sends". ~ (Ralph Waldo Emerson)

Yellow Bird
oil paint on canvas. Size:20x16inches. Rm290. I don't, for the record, have a Tweety Bird fetish "I give bird songs to those who dwell in cities and have never heard them, make rhythms for those who know only military marches or jazz, and paint colors for those who see none". Diptych Trees
SOLD acrylic on canvas. Size: 12x24 inches. rm290 (colour slightly different from original painting) Painting done in gold & silver acrylics Cat: (my cat) Isabeau ~ the meaning of the name Isabeau is 'God's Promise' When God Made Cats When God made the world, He chose to put animals in it, and decided to give each whatever it wanted. All the animals formed a long line before His throne, and the cat quietly went to the end of the line. To the elephant and the bear He gave strength, to the rabbit and the deer, swiftness; to the owl, the ability to see at night, to the birds and the butterflies, great beauty; to the fox, cunning; to the monkey, intelligence; to the dog, loyalty; to the lion, courage; to the otter, playfulness. And all these were things the animals begged of God. At last he came to the end of the line, and there sat the little cat, waiting patiently. "What will YOU have?" God asked the cat. The cat shrugged modestly. "Oh, whatever scraps you have left over. I don't mind." "But I'm God. I have everything left over." "Then I'll have a little of everything, please." And God gave a great shout of laughter at the cleverness of this small animal, and gave the cat everything she asked for, adding grace and elegance and, only for her, a gentle purr that would always attract humans and assure her a warm and comfortable home. But he took away her false modesty. Lenore Fleischer |

Tree of Life Symbolism
The Tree of Life symbol meaning represents different qualities/virtues like wisdom, strength, protection, beauty, bounty and redemption. It is also considered to be the symbol of 'Creator'. The tree is associated with the creator because it provides protection, supports abundant fruit production and thereby, regeneration. This analogy can also be used to describe the life of humans. We as humans develop 'roots' of our beliefs, 'branch out' by means of wisdom and the 'trunk' (mind & body) keeps them connected.
The Tree of Life meaning as perceived in different faiths, belief systems and cultures, resonates with a simple and strong message of unity. The Tree of Life symbol indicates that all forms of life are connected through a cosmic energy and that we as humans should live in harmony with rest of the living beings.
