About Me
- Debora Teo
- Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
- I have been creating art throughout my life but it was not until the beginning of 2010, having ample time in my hands that i started creating art on a full-time basis. I am a self taught artist, having no formal education in art, painting solely driven by interest, love for art and passion. Occasionally, dream and emotion inspired. As an emotional painter, expressing myself in my artwork is as important as it is for me to breath. Expressing myself through art enables me to reach deep down into my true essential self and share that state of interconnectedness and "entanglement". When an idea becomes compulsion, I express it. I believe that Art is an essential requirement of living. I am from Sarawak, a Malaysian born and raised in Brunei Darussalam and lived in Miri, Sarawak for most of my adult life. I am currently residing in Kuala Lumpur. I have two beautiful children.

Mother's Love
NOT FOR SALE (private collection)
My children are very smart,
Both of them have a great big heart.
They both are growing up each and every day,
In their own unique and special way.
Both of my children are filled with joy,
I love them dearly both my girl and boy.
When I am sad and have a bad day,
Both of my children know how to make my hurt go away.
I love my children more than words could ever say,
I am very greatful that they are alive each and every day.
They mean more to me than anyone will ever know,
When the children are not around me the days seem to go by so slow.
Everyday brings a brand new start,
After all my children are my heart.
I thank God each and every day,
That he sent two beautiful angels my way.

"Some painters transform the sun into a yellow spot, others transform a yellow spot into the sun".
Pablo Picasso.
As with most of my other paintings, i just go with the flow of my imagination and emotions. my brush just moves along as i go, for this piece in particular, unplanned. If you ask me what inspired me to paint this? i really don't know. Picasso quoted, "it started from a yellow spot"... the rest just follows :D

I dream of Buddha
NOT FOR SALE (private collection)
24 x 24 inches
Having seen an image of Buddha in my dreams, i was told by a friend that i am deemed lucky to have experienced that. To be precise, this painting portrays the exact image & colors of my dream (yes, we dream in colors, unless you wish to think otherwise). I guess i do feel i am blessed not just the experience of my vivid dream but life as a whole. I thank God for all i have (or don't) and the beauty of being able to wake up each morning to see another day. i will never ask for more. maybe just a Gucci bag.
Transcendence
SOLD
30 x 30 inches
It is commonly thought in most cultures that feathers are symbols of higher thought, spiritual progression. The line of thought here is that birds were considered divine creatures in primitive/ancient cultures because they are creatures of the sky (heaven) and therefore closer to God.
When you find feathers upon your path it could be taken to mean that you are on a higher spiritual path (whether you accept it or not), and it may be a sign of encouragement as you philosophically travel on this path.
Finding feathers on your path is also symbolic of having a lighter outlook on life or a particulary situation. When we see feathers in our midst it is considered a message that we need to lighten up, not take things too seriously, and try to find the joy in our situation.
Some common symbolic meanings are: Heightened awareness, Light heartedness, Enlightenment, Prayer, Divinity, ProgressMonday, June 13, 2011
Buddha Dreams
AVAILABLE
Last night i had a strange dream. It was an image of myself painting a Buddha picture. Unlike any other dreams, this time it was so vivid, image and colors. When i woke up that morning, driven by impulse, i just had to paint my dream. It was something i can't explain or describe or have ever experienced in my life. Strange but true, weird but blissful rather hypnotic in a positive kind of way. The peculiar urge was so intense that two hours later, i had completed this piece, effortlessly. My first Buddha painting.
